Meet Eleni
Mount Prospect isn’t just where I live, it is the community that has shaped who I am.
I'VE SERVED MOUNT PROSPECT BEFORE. NOW I'M READY TO SERVE AGAIN.
Who is Eleni
In 2017, I had the privilege of being elected to serve as a Mount Prospect Village Trustee. During my time on the Board, I was involved in major projects and important decisions that helped shape our community. I gained firsthand experience in evaluating development, infrastructure, finances and the many competing priorities that come before the Village Board. I learned what it means to sit at the table, understand the facts, ask difficult questions and make thoughtful decisions on behalf of residents. I’m not learning how to be a Trustee. I’ve done the work. Today, I’m bringing that experience back with a fresh perspective and a clear focus on the future. Mount Prospect has changed since I first served, and the challenges ahead require leaders who understand where we've been, but are focused on where we're going.
Experience that informs my leadership
For more than 20 years, my career in Human Resources has prepared me to lead in complex, high-stakes environments where listening, sound judgment, accountability and strong decision-making matter. I’ve built my career solving problems, navigating competing perspectives, managing resources and making difficult decisions based on facts and long-term impact. Those skills are directly transferable to Village government, and combined with my previous experience serving as a Mount Prospect Trustee, give me a unique perspective and a strong foundation to serve our community effectively.Since then, I have continued to grow as a leader through more than 20 years of experience in human resources and organizational leadership. Today, I work with executive leadership to solve complex problems, navigate change, develop strategies, and bring people together to achieve common goals.
That experience has reinforced something I learned during my time on the Village Board: good leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about listening, asking the right questions, bringing people together, and having the courage to make decisions when decisions need to be made.
Why I’m running
I am running for Village Board because I believe Mount Prospect is at an important point in its next chapter. We have a strong community, a proud history, and a solid foundation. But we cannot assume that what worked yesterday will automatically work tomorrow.
Our future requires thoughtful leadership focused on the issues that affect residents every day—from responsible finances and public safety to infrastructure, transportation, local businesses, neighborhood quality of life, and long-term planning.
I want to bring my experience back to the Village Board, listen to residents, ask difficult questions when necessary, and work collaboratively to find practical solutions. My goal is simple: to help make sure Mount Prospect remains a community people are proud to call home—not just today, but for generations to come.
